January is a busy month for motorsport in New
Zealand. By now all enthusiasts will know that New Zealander Jonny Reid won the
A1 GP sprint race at the revised Taupo circuit. The Trust displayed the M8A for
the first time wearing all its bodywork. Trust CEO Jan McLaren says the
response was huge from the general public who hadn't seen a Can-Am car before
and from Trust members who can see that the car is nearly complete but
appreciate that it takes time and money to rebuild a car to such a high
standard. Jan says the Taupo meeting was good for the Trust but she could do
without the dust. As Taupo is on a volcanic plateau perhaps the dust will always
be there.
If you'd like to help with the restoration of the Can-Am car, please consider joining the Trust and offering a hand.
