Group 7 Sportscars Limited
Like many a new business when it starts off, the Trust was formed on enthusiasm, a pool of voluntary workers and the smell of an oily rag. It was soon realised that in order to progress things at a much faster rate, we would need tremendous private support in these early formative years.

To this end two of our most active and supportive associates, Tony Roberts and Duncan Fox started work on a private project back in 1996 to support the Trust with the acquisition of McLaren parts and cars. At the same time they also offered us space in their workshop at Whitford. This has now culminated in the formation of the company Group 7 Sportscars Limited, which has been set up in affiliation and with the endorsement of the Bruce McLaren Trust.

Group 7 Sportscars is a private engineering company specialising in early McLaren car restoration. Duncan and Tony have McLaren cars themselves, ranging from the 1966 ex McLaren/Amon M1B,
an Group 7 Sportscars M12 Can-Am race carM12 Can-Am Sportscar,

 

 

 

 

 

through to a variety of sportscars and single seaters to Peter Revson's Tony Roberts driving the M161973 Indianapolis car.
These cars are raced by Group 7 Sportscars at meetings in Australasia, at their cost, in conjunction with the Bruce McLaren Trust's displays. Group 7 Sportscars also have a huge inventory of spare parts for the early McLaren cars and can supply virtually any

component required for these magnificent racing cars.

This gives tremendous benefits and advantages to the Trust and gives us and our members access to many more McLarens and long term gives us first option to purchase these cars from Tony and Duncan.
