Heres a faultless way,

To own a modified vehicle or a vehicle deemed as a sports car or performance car. The owner and driver must have a motorsport New Zealand licencse and take part in at least two competitions a year and this vehicle must meet low volume vehicle standards

This would decrease the numbers who are really just 'boy racers' and have purchased and drive these vehicles because they think it makes them cool and popular and god knows what else. Or who are adrenalin junkies who love the speed but have very little responsibility or driver skill, even though they think they may.

And Increase the numbers who are actually ' entusiasts', would increase the number of events, increase the driving skill of the owners and make these people more responsible on the use of their vehicle

Who Knows if done right this could be our new national sport! And Why the Hell Not!? were good at it!

To everyone who is a genuine entusiast. Be responsible and stop getting us a bad name. There is a time and place for everything, remember that! Lets make the public appreciate our cars not stereotype them and hate them!

Heres a faultless way...

    Hi joecefiro,
noticed your blog mate...nice one. Hope you don't mind, I did a bit of fiddling in the background so that folks could comment on your blog.
When you start a blog, you have to 'Add Entry' after you've saved your Title and Description. The machine doesn't think the blog has been started to folks can't comment if there is just a Title and Description...so I moved yours around a bit, and made your description your first entry...and here we are.

Ok, I'm back and finished being a 'do it this way' pain in the butt.

Mate, I reckon you've got some good ideas there. And as with just about every fun thing on the planet, it always seems to be a couple of bad apples that wreck it for the rest...but worse and most difficult to change is the public perception; especially when so much energy and money has been made out giving the public that perception in the first place. I mean, I'm sure that 'boy racers' didn't name themselves 'boy racers'...who did?

Your ideas seem to make a lot of sense...I wonder would would happen if they were put into practice?

Like, do your reckon that making these laws and insurance ppolicies would cost a lot to put in place..and wouldn't this just make it more difficult for a young bloke to get a smekky ride? And who would get the money from the licenses? The government? The Insurance Companies? There has to be a way to channel that money into organising more facilities and events for blokes to drive their cars...otherwise, don't you reckon it would just make the government/insurance companies richer and the young blokes poorer and even more pissed off?

And it seems that 'boy racer' cars are often fairly well spec'd. What if these 'boy racers' were doing the same thing in cars that were less safe to do it in, because the licensing and insurance precluded them from participating and therefore modding their cars properly...or they just said 'screw that...I'm not paying of yet another license just because I've got a nice ride.

And if more blokes did react against such measures, how would that affect the prices and supply of mods and parts...maybe some good suppliers and mechanics would lose business?

Any way...that'll do me for now...good stuff joecefiro...cheers'
